2 year anniversary - Iona Dale

Two years ago, I got the Dale Sheep family for my 20th birthday from a dear friend of mine. This past year I've been sadly connecting some sad emotions to my collection, but now it seems as if I can just see them as the objects they are and not bearer of my past life. C: I hope that this autumn and the next year, and many years to come, I'll be able to have lots of fun with these little critters! I got to remember to bring my camera out more often as well! :D

The Tale of Trick-or-Treat and the Headless Mouse

Here comes a little Halloween tale! I love Halloween and got inspired by ashmimi.com to do some wreaths earlier this month. I wish I had so many cute things I could create costumes for my critters, but well! I have been busy this month, with an exam and being ill,  and this thing took a week to shoot! XD The story is very picture heavy and maybe a little bit spooky as well!
Enjoy and happy Halloween!

"Children!" Mr. Springer said when the last class had ended. "Have you heart the tale of the Haunted Mansion?" he asked his class.

The children where all silent. Some of them, who had lived in Lingondale, had heard about the Haunted Mansion before. As well as it's inhabitant, the Headless Mouse.

"I have heard about it." little Iona Dale said.
"It's an old, old story." Mr. Springer said. "Dating back to when the mansion was first built."

"The Headless Mouse was not always headless, but he lost it because he was a bad man, it was his punishment." Mr. Springer said and dramatically turned his back against his students. "But when they brought his body back to be buried, weird things began to happen at the mansion!"

Mr. Springer took a pause. "Cookie jars went missing, one could hear strange sounds at night!" he said. The children sat completely quiet, capivated by Mr. Springer's story. Except for Joanne who felt very embarrassed. "No one have lived there for 200 years after what happened that one night..." Mr. Springer said.

He ended his story there and returned to the black board. "Will you go trick or treat tonight?" he asked his class. The girls nodded their heads, they had planned it all already. "It will be the first time!" Evelyn Waterbrook said and smiled. "Well, watch out for the Headless Mouse!" Mr. Springer said and laughed!

The Dale Sheep Family

As I will be away from my collection during the summer, I wanted to keep this blog alive. So I decided to do a little "meet the families" introduction over the next few weeks as I will be away from the internet and the hobby as well for almost two months! Have a happy summer! :)

The Dale Family is the longest living family in Lingondale. They have owned Highfields farm for as long as it was built and are proudly producing most of Lingondale's groceries. It was a Dale family member that first made up the famous lingonberry jam, which gave the village it's name!
        Father Ewan
        Mother Barbara
        Brother Winton
        Sister Iona
        Crawl Twin Shona
        Sleeping Twin Sean

I got the Dale Sheep family for my 20th birthday from my best friend S. It was the first Sylvanian item I ever owned and the beginning of an obsession. Thank you so much S.!

The last class on a Friday...

It's the last class of the week. All of the children like school, but there is something about Fridays that make everyone a bit nervous and excited, barely able to concentrate on the different plant parts that Mr. Springer is trying to teach them.

Only Cornelia Porridge is still active, raising her hand, even though she is mostly thinking about how she and her mum are going to make scallop cookies when they get home. Winton Dale looks as if he life has run out of him, but his friend James Porridge tells the answer before his sister got the chance!

Joanne Springer pays attention to her father's class, but not even she is that interested, she really wants to go out and play now. Or perhaps play some game!

Finally the last class has ended and Mr. Springer lets the children go. Iona Dale waves him goodbye and Mr. Springer reminds her to do the homework before she goes out to play.

Bruce Springer remembers when he was a child and sat in the same classroom and anxiously awaited when the clock stroke 3 pm on Fridays, so he understands the children. He makes sure to go through the list to see so that he has marked everyone as there.

Then he puts up all the chairs on the desk so that the cleaning lady will be able to sweet the floors. He also cleans the blackboard and make sure that the classroom look nice before he leaves.

The last thing he does is to take some of the papers down from the notice board, to take with him to the recycling bin on his way home. But as soon as he get's home, he is going to get ready for the cricket game tomorrow, this week his team will win against Ewan Dale!

Cuthbert Porridge's Toy Store

Here are some pictures from a few months ago when I had wallpapered the Toy Store! It lays at the square in Lingondale and every child loves to visit it and perhaps try out the new toys in the play area as their parents are looking at toys and making secret arrangements with Mr. Cuthbert Porridge, the owner of the store, to wrap and deliver a certain toy for a birthday party or Christmas!

Overview! I love this paper, but it was a tricky house to wallpaper!

But oh no! Little baby Emma is crawling up the slide! Luckily Cuthbert reacts to Barbara's shrieks!

Cornelia Porridge is showing the doll house to Iona Dale.

And Winton is a bit jealous of James car, he wished he had one too.

Every evening Cuthbert cleans the store every night, that is how he likes it, when it's clean and nice, but he likes the childrens laughs as well. He just wish that they where a bit more neat!

With a final touch to the shelfs, Cuthbert close the shop for the day!
